Okay I have a problem which is, itching my behind, in a manner of
speaking.

I have a webserver ala (www.astroadvice.com) The problem we
have been encountering has been pretty strange, and I have not
figured out a way to prevent this from killing the network or the
router each time it happens..

Okay this is what happens, a user connects to our site (cache
server), and somehow requests to verify the age of each object on
the
page.

This causes our server to flood back with HTTP 304 errors, this
flooded our network with very small packets , which would then
have to be sent across our router. The problem is that the packets
do
not create excess data to be created, it actually didn't show any
marked increase in the data output, just the number of packets.

an Example is
at time X the output is
1320kbps at 200pps
at time Y the output is
880kbps at 1320pps

Has anyone else had this problem, as it's both annoying me at it's
causing some major problems with our router.

Oh plus the load on our router for these periods would spike up
drastically up to the point that the router would shut down. But
for the period of this happening no traffic is accepted what so ever.
By any service
