This may seem rather like a fundamental question. I have a small file-sharing network of about 15 users that is about to be hooked up to the net using a DSL router, do I neccessarily need to have a proxy server in place for my DHCP and firewall, or can I get by with an internet sharing device? Devices such as the Rampnet, Sonicwall or ISB2Net boxes. Do I need both in place or just one or the other for simple connection to the net with DHCP and firewall use? Some info on our system: We don't have any mail, web, or news servers on our LAN. We use an off-site server for our e-mail needs. The DSL provider is providing us with 5 useable IP's I've been reading the messages regarding VPN products and I haven't seen any reference to the Nexland product ISB2Net, anyone using this device care to comment on it? Any comments would be helpful. Alex C. - [To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe firewalls" in the body of the message.]
