Let's start by saying after the DDos attacks against E-bay, CNN, etc the media
gets
on a rant. Does anyone here think the public at large gave a damn, NO. I
watched
all the the CSPAN coverage, CNN, FOX, it is clear that they have no clue what
was
going on. None of these where hackers they where script kiddies. I also don't
believe
it should take the FBI to get involved to solve this. E-bay's CEO said in front
of
congress that they worked with their ISP to place filters and ended the attack.
Gee
sounds like problem is solved to me. If the whiners like Yahoo and the rest
continue on this
track the internet is going to take a turn for the worse as time goes on. Janet
Reno, and
Louie Free of the FBI both want more wire tapping rights with the power to act
before
an attack occurs. Hello, they want to monitor inside peoples systems without a
crime
being committed. I think all of you better start worrying about the solutions
that are
being proposed before your freedoms are gone. I will never report a hack attack
of
any kind. I was hired and work to solve and fix these problems, not the FBI.
There is
no Gray hats period. You are a hacker your a hacker. If you want to be good at
protecting
your own networks you better become a hacker. If you know what they know there
is nothing
to be afraid of. The media is starting a panic over a script that can be
stopped with filters
on firewalls and routers. Let's not give up our sanity or our networks to the
FBI or the
hackers. After watching the CSPAN coverage of what powers the government wants
over
the network I am now terrified, unlike a hacker a portfolio in washington can be
a really bad
thing.
