What:

A small group of security professionals who work with Firewall-1 and
other Check Point products are starting a user's group. While this is
not sponsored by Checkpoint or any other vendor, everyone is invited
to attend. Our goals for the group include:

- Increase networking between security professionals in the San
        Francisco/San Jose area.
- Help each other with problems relating to Check Point products.
- Provide each other with real-world testimony about how various
Check Point and 3rd party products really work.
- Discuss new trends, threats, solutions, and ideas.
- Have fun and make new friends.

Who:

Security professionals using or interested in Checkpoint or OPSEC
products.

Agenda:

- Meet everyone. Lotsa new faces/names.

- Select "officers" to handle things like setting up a mailing
list, web site, coordinating future meetings, etc.

- Administrivia: how often to meet, dinner plans, etc.

- Come up with a more specific list of things to do. I'm sure we
could go to compaines like CP, ISS, etc and say "Hey we hear you have
this cool software/tool/thingy/idea. Wanna come over and do a
demo/give a speech for a bunch of security people?" We can talk about
things like "Steps to secure your NT/Solaris/Linux/etc box before
you install FW-1 on it." It would be nice to get experts to come in
and give talks about security topics like DDoS, IDS, etc. Not to
mention create a list of "What Checkpoint could do better." :)

- (Tentative) A presentation by one UG member who recently spent
a week in Israel working with Check Point engineers.

When:

Wednesday, March 15th from 7pm-9pm.

Note that this date corresponds with the Check Point-sponsored
Users Conference in San Francisco. If you happen to be driving
home from it, or are in town for it and want to drop by for
our first meeting, please do!

Where:

Vicinity Corporation
1135A San Antonio Rd
