I haven't seen this topic raised anywhere, and I thought that someone on the list might be able to confirm or refute a disturbing allegation. Recently, two posters in the Usenet Newsgroup (cableinet.cable_modems) claimed to have detected Black Ice acting as a Trojan. Is this a nasty rumour that can be safely dismissed or is there truth to the allegation? The posting in question can be found at DejaNews in: http://x42.deja.com/getdoc.xp?AN=589587935&CONTEXT=952491191.444465163&hitnum=0 If that URL doesn't work (it works fine for me), then trying getting Deja News to search the cableinet.cable_modems newsgroup for postings about Black Ice. The posting was made on or about February 25, 2000. I'm not sure if it is considered proper to include the text so I'll let interested parties take a look for themselves. I really hope this isn't true - I was thinking of recommending the product to my clients who need to protect the PC Client endpoints of VPNs. - Terry Ingoldsby [EMAIL PROTECTED] - [To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe firewalls" in the body of the message.]
