I've been asked to poll the group to see what the feeling is toward letting
Java and/or ActiveX and/or JavaScript through the firewall. I'm familiar
with the pros and cons so I don't need to know that. Management wants to get
a sense if our current policies are what is going on the industry.
Specifically, as they expand our web site, there are features in these which
can make the site more friendly. However, if they are routinely blocked,
then it doesn't make much sense to use them. If someone knows what AOL does,
that would be especially helpful; they seem to be a black-hole for almost
any technical question.
You can respond directly to me. If I get a decent number of replies, I'll
summarize and let you know.
