To do the best job at anything, use a dedicated device designed for the
purpose. A router is designed to communicate freely and efficiently. It
can be used as a firewall in some cases but you have to go through the
trouble of teaching the router not to route. If the router you have can
handle your needs in an acceptable way - great. But the most secure design
will look more like a dedicated firewall connected between two screening
routers.

Subject: question about screening router

i know this is a dumb question, but I'm sure u experts can come up with a
brilliant answer for that.

If a screening router is kinda doing the job of a firewall, then why do we
even need a firewall?
