Hi all,
has someone perhaps come across similar bind log entries
like this one:
Mar 15 19:08:39 nserver named[169]: ns_req: sendto([xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx].1640): Connection
refused
Ive looked through ns_req.c in the bind sources and as far as Ive
understood it, named tries to send a ns request message via the
sendto() call to the destination host which fails.
What I dont understand is, why named does this at all. The
hosts that appear in the logs are no nameservers and theres no
(unofficial) named running on them.
I am also wondering about the strange port numbers that named tries to
send the packets to; Ive seen 3196 and 32768 for instance.
Cheers,
Thore
