Squid is a highly recommended proxy server for Linux.  It can be setup to
authenticate users in an NT Domain via Samba, as well as a NetWare 5 network
running NDS v8 (or eDirectory) via LDAP.

As for a  firewall, ipchains is a packet filter included with every linux
distro.  I'm not familiar with any commercial firewalling products for Linux
though.
