There is MailVault from Authentica (www.authentica.com).
MailVault - How it Works
How E-mail is accessed and used is determined by the sender, who creates
"policies" or sets of criteria that indicate how any one individual or group
may access or use an e-mail message. These policies are stored on
Authentica's Policy Server and can be changed at a moment's notice, even
after the e-mail has been sent. On the sender's PC, MailVault integrates
into the mail client as a plug-in, and is compatible with popular
shrink-wrapped e-mail software such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express,
and Eudora.
The sender encrypts the e-mail message by selecting the MailVault icon and
selects the policies that will determine how and when the recipient can
access and use the e-mail before sending the message. The e-mail is then
registered on the Authentica Policy Server. When the recipient attempts to
open the e-mail message a dialog box appears, asking for a user name and
password or a stronger authentication method. The recipient's computer then
connects to the sender's policy server, which provides a key allowing the
e-mail to be opened. If the e-mail message is sent to a recipient who does
not have the MailVault plug-in they are guided through a step-by-step
process for installing the plug-in. If the recipient is accessing mail
messages from a un-supported mail client then a Universal reader is
downloaded to allow access.
MailVault's control extends across any intranet, extranet, and the Internet
because use and access privileges are only granted by the sender's policy
server. Access to and use of messages is re-granted each and every time.
This assures persistent control - even across the Internet.
Don't know about the price yet.
Haven't tested or used it or know somebody who does.
Maybe somebody else knows more on this.
