Looking into Security software and hardware to Secure a network..
Bottom line is we will be reconstructing our LAN Network and Overall WAN
Network. Limiting the Internet access points to 2 locations.
Both Access points are to have a Firewall and Hopefully a proxy server to
take care of any traffic in to and out of our network.
Since all of our machines now have Global IP Addresses We plan on changing
them to Private IP addresses and do a N.A.T. for internet access through A
Proxy Server.
Now that we have a basic Idea of the goal we are trying to reach. This is
our major problem is that I for one am not an expert and havent done this
before. So management of these tasks should be fairly easy or easy to
learn.
I guess the Question I have for all of you is.
1. What would be good Proxy Server Software that I may accomplish the
Proxing side of this Overall Picture.
2. What would be good Fire Wall Hardware and Software also to accomplish
the major security part of the Overall Picture. (Of course I would need
to do IP Filtering and Port Filtering.)
3. If I do implement the above what if any software could I use to make my
daily tasks a little easier to manage and monitor.
