The issues with IPTEL are pretty much the same as with any other server
based application. Namely, access control to the needed ports. Network-1
has been working with Lucent's IP Exchange group and wrote a short
application paper which discusses this. Give me a few hours and I'll post
it to http://www.network-1.com/library/index.htm. I hope this helps you
out.

Subject: IP Telephony Security Issues
Anyone have an idea on the security issues facing networks with the
advent of IP Telephony and the streaming of voice and data packets? I'm
starting to hear rumblings in this direction from several sites visited
recently that are seriously looking at IPTEL solutions. Could this be a
firewall issue and if so have vendors factored this into current
products?
Thanks for any help in advance.
