I have figured out some of my problems but a few remain if anyone has
any ideas.
Currently, a client on the Internet can use HTTPS to the proxy and the
proxy will talk HTTP to the webserver. This works ok.
INTERNET-----https-----+-----http-----FIREWALL-----http-----WEBSERVER
P
R
O
X
Y
However, if I also enable https from the proxy to the webserver, the
internet client can't connect:
INTERNET-----https-----+-----https-----FIREWALL-----https-----WEBSERVER
P
R
O
X
Y
Yet is I disable https altogether, the internet client gets through
fine:
INTERNET-----http-----+-----http-----FIREWALL-----http-----WEBSERVER
P
R
O
X
Y
If I bypass the proxy server, the internet client using https can get
through to the webserver ok:
INTERNET-----https-----FIREWALL-----https-----WEBSERVER
If I use https via browser from the proxy server itself (below) to the
webserver, that works:
+-----https-----FIREWALL-----https-----WEBSERVER
P
R
O
X
Y
However, If I use http from the internet cleint to the proxy then https
(as above) to the webserver, it doesn't work:
INTERNET-----http-----+-----https-----FIREWALL-----https-----WEBSERVER
P
R
O
X
Y
Thus I am unable to determine WHERE my problem is. Anyone got any
explainations or experience with this? Thanks for any assistance.
