The "messages with auto-preview" (called "executive summary" in this thread)
is a feature of Outlook, not Outlook Express. Outlook is the corporate
e-mail client that's part of Office. Outlook Express is the Internet-only
e-mail client that's part of IE.

Both Outlook and Outlook Express allow you to indicate that you want to read
mail in IE's restricted zone; I wish this were the default, but alas it
isn't. Here's how to set it up:

Outlook 2000:
  Tools
    Options
      Security tab
        Zone: Restricted sites
Outlook Express 5:
  Tools
    Options
      Security tab
        Restricted sites zone

I'd also recommend that you start IE and change the settings for the
restricted zone:
  Tools
    Internet Options
      Security tab
        Restricted sites icon
          Custom Level button

I've disabled everything that has a "disable" setting.

Regarding the 'executive summary' feature - what version of Outlook Express
are you using?

I'm using 5.00.2314.1300 and on the "Tools" menu I find no "Organize" tab.
I checked Help and found no references of the word "Executive" in the index.

But I'd sure like to turn VBS scripting off.

If I turn it off in IE5.0 what are the downsides, and will it have an effect
on my mail? Methinks not.

TIA,
Y
