Hi Reggie,
ok firstly kill off sendmail and replace it with qmail (www.qmail.org) 
secondly make sure teh rest of your daemons are teh latest stable versions 
with all security patches installed.
Then start killing off un-needed services (use nmap to find whats running 
on your machine - www.insecure.org)

 From there? add tcp-wrappers would be a good start.. but after that you 
might want to think of adding a dedicated machine running something like FWTK..
