I beta tested and conducted a thorough product evaluation of the Network
Associates WebShield E-ppliance 300 last November. I had to stop the
product evaluation (approximately 85 pages when I last touched the product
review). One of the major issues was quality assurance testing on both
the funtionality of the product, the hardening of the underlying embedded
o/s and the lack of understanding from the engineers to the documentation
group. I know for fact that the engineers were not happy getting back a
85 partially completed product review indicating that the review had to be
stopped until some major issues were addressed and that the
smoke/full/regression testing was totally inadequate.
