We sell both products - they are comparitively comprable in features and price. We
do get more support call on the Watchguard - no fatals, but just the same.
Watchguard's LiveSecurity feature is only a plus for those who like to have auto
updates of software - most of our security intensive clients prefer not to take
advantage of this. Additionally, Firebox has an ftp, smtp, and html proxy, where
NetScreen only has an ftp proxy.
Netscreen does circuit proxy connections and does load balancing for html, smtp,
ftp, and dns.
Performance is where we have found the class distinction: NetScreen's RISC based
appliance has an aggregate throughput of 84.3 Mbs with 64 clients and 34,500
conncurrent connections. Watchguard's offering is nowhere near this...
