Background: Configuring Checkpoint FW-1 4.1 for HP-UX. System has been hardened, = except for sendmail. 1) I want the firewall to act as a mail relay. Internet or internal = e-mail is sent to the firewall and then it sends it on to the appropriate mail server internally or on the Internet based upon DNS MX records. I = configured the SMTP security server resource to act as the mail relay. It seems to = work fine for e-mail from the Internet to the internal network. E-mail from = the internal network is accepted, but never leaves the queue. Even though = DNS and routing is set up correctly, it acts as if it cannot look up or reach = the Internet mail server. Any ideas? =20 2) I have a question about how the FW-1 SMTP security server works. = Should sendmail be shut down? Does the in.asmtpd handle everything that = sendmail -bd -q does? 3) I have since developed another problem. Inexplicably, the in.asmtpd = has shutdown, and I cannot get it restarted in any fashion. Any ideas? Thanks. Quentin Antrim - [To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe firewalls" in the body of the message.]
