There's a ton, depending on which OS you're running. Since you gave us absolutely 
nothing to go on, I'll assume youre running Linux. In Linux you can use a tool called 
swatch to automate things, (like paging you when something fails, or sounding the 
ALERT.WAV file that comes with RedHat). It takes quite a bit of work to configure tho 
(unless you're a linux guru which Iam not). Compaq's come with a product called 
Insight Manager that you can also configure to page you.
