Hi all,

Newbie here, that could do with a little peer advise. I've been doing some
reading and trying to figure what to do for a firewall. I don't have anyone
to call on - so all that care, fire away I'm listening. (thanks)

I administer a small NT shop (web portal) with a web box talking to SQL box,
Site Server Commerce Edition, P&M using LDAP to SQL etc. PostOffice for our
LAN. Our web content is updated via ODBC connections and we are moving to
web based updates using SSL. blah blah blah. Our content providers are on
the same LAN. We provide them with DHCP, WINS and their connection to the
net.

We are entering into a nice little arrangement with the phone company to
supply web portal services to their clients. In return we get a dirty big
pipe and zero hop to the backbone. :)

I need to provide the above services but block attacks and separate
ourselves from the phone company (as we will be on the same LAN). Oh! and
did I mention that it will have to be cheapish? Have been looking at MS
Proxy Server, but doesn't seem like you guys like this product all that much
according to the archives. <enough ranting>

Any advise on possible system and architecture would be greatly appreciate
since a lot of you have been there already...

Thanks again for any comments links etc.
Barry
