True, but that's done for a deliberate reason - plug-gw looks for it's 
netperm-table entries using that 'extra' argument. The '-daemon' code was 
bolted on later; while we could have used the argument from that to figure 
out the name, that would have broken pre-daemon setups.

Be that as it may, I think my answer still stands. To talk to your news 
server, set up a plug on port 119.
