Hi,

Can anyone offer any tips / tricks / war stories with regard to upgrading
the PIX from software release 4.4(1) to the latest 5.1 branch?

We've got a PIX 'Classic' and have the PIX-MEM-UPG-128= DRAM memory upgrade
already but have also been informed we need the PIX-FLASH-16MB= flash
upgrade. The 5.1(2) release notes say 2MB is required and I believe since we
are already running 4.4(1) that we are already there (it's an inherited box,
so I'm hazy on the config.)

Other than the hardware requirements - any other issues I should be aware
of? What about backout paths? I see that if the PIX has 16MB flash we can't
go back to 4.4(1).. I suppose if that's the scenario I'll just pull the
flash back out. Any quirky config changes likely to occur?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Dale
