Here is my dilema. My internet connection at home is a cable modem
that uses DHCP to assign an IP address. My gateway machine is a
Windows 2000 Server. I have machines behind the gateway that need to
access the Internet. Right now I am using Windows 2000's NAT service
to provide access. I would like to use a firewall on this box to
protect my network. Before anyone recommends replacing the win2k box
with an OpenBSD box I know, I know, I had OBSD before this, I am
replacing it with the win2k box (for my own reasons). My
requirements for the fireall are:
1. Runs on Windows 2000 (duh)
2. Provides NAT (if possible)
3. Allows for incoming port redirection
4. Can support DHCP addresses
5. Some version is available for free (for evaluation)
6. Source code would be a plus
I looked at Raptor, but it doesn't like DHCP nor does it support
Windows 200 yet (a setup.exe problem I didn't delve too deeply into).
Basically I guess I'm looking for ipfilter for Windows 2000. Is
there any sort of firewall that meets there requirements, or at least
comes close? Any win2k fireall recommendations? Thanks for any help
you can give me.
