J,

#read a post on the ISC2.org board and am interested in CISSP training. Can

#anyone help me out on the following as the board is very vague on what to
#study besides title's I can't find:

#1. What books are good to learn and use for the exam?
#2. Any cram tests out ?
#3. Any programs that can help you in preparing for the 10 parts to the
#exam.?
#4. What real life applications can be relevant to studying for these 10
#parts(ie Encryption=what programs do it and who would use it (i know who
#does but it's an example :) ) )?

#If I can think of anything else or anything anyone else has any questions
I
#would like to see the response from those that took it, those that have
#CISSP cert's, or anyone that is knowledgable....i'm greedy i know.

I just received my CISSP about 2 months ago. The only study material I
used was the "Information Security Handbook." There are also two books put
out by SRV Publishing(?). One is a very dry textbook that goes over the 10
CBK domains and the other is filled with 1200 or so text questions. The
test question book seemed pretty good. ALl of the training I have seen is
way to expensive to bother with. I read the "Information Security
Handbook" a couple of days before the test as a refresher and I passed
without a problem.

Jeffery Gieser
