Two suggestions:
1) Check out NT Services for Unix 2.0. It's supposed to provide NT/Unix
password synch -- but not having tested it, can't say how good it is.
2) You can use Active Directory Services Interfaces (ADSI) and any scripting
language the Windows Script Host supports -- which includes PERL, JavaScript
and VBScript -- on the Windows NT side, and maybe some shell scripts on the
Unix side to send/accept password info. If you want the passwords
transmitted securely, you'd probably need to script an SSH client (SecureCRT
from Ataman is supposedly scriptable) on the NT box to connect to the
Solaris box and execute a passwd command. There's a book called Windows
NT/2000 ADSI Scripting for System Administration by Thomas Eck that might
have some useful scripts you can hack around. And you may need to add ADSI
support to an NT 4 box; think there's a file out there called ads.exe that
installs Active Directory support on NT 4.
But the second option would definitely take some time; hope you're not
planning a vacation for a few weeks ...
