Hello Everyone,

Has anyone ever experienced a situation where Inetd, the master daemon for
network services, consumes more than average resources especially the
memory, on firewall. I have been observing these symptoms occasionally which
seem to be related to the load of data traffic. When it happens, Inetd
refuses to release the memory for up to 10 hours after the programs are
shutdown. This situation sounds similar to Microsoft's memory leak problem,
and I have no clue whats causing it in Solaris. Also, should there be only
one Inetd process running all the time, regardless of the data load.
Any input or pointers on this issue will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Cheers
Eessa
