I'm trying to setup a Nokia 330 running ipso 3.2.1 and FW-1 4.1 on my
network and having no luck at all getting it to work.
I've configured the inside interface with an address on my internal network,
the outside interface is actually configured with a 10 network address which
I was told to use by my ISP. The outside interface is connected to a DSL
modem. Once I get everything configured and turn the firewall package "on"
through the Voyager program, then reboot the unit, I can no longer access
the unit through Voyager. Before turning on the firewall software, I made
sure that Voyager access was enabled, and admin login was allowed. So my
first problem is that I cannot get into the Voyager program once the
firewall is configured. Is that by design? The documentation for these
things is fantastic, everytime I need a good laugh I pick it up. But I
digress...
I figured out how to blow away the configuration and start from scratch by
removing the config file, but when I reconfigure it, same thing happens, I
can no longer get into Voyager after enabling the firewall. Also, after
enabling the firewall, I can't access the internet using a client PC with
the firewall configured as its gateway. I can however, ping to the outside
interface of the firewall from a client PC connected to the internal
network. From a console connection on the firewall appliance I can also ping
the router at my ISP, so I know that I am at least getting out to their
network.
If you haven't guessed it already, this is the first firewall I've ever
tried to configure. If you know of any good, basic documentation for the
Nokia 330, I would greatly appreciate it.
