I am hoping that someone here might be able to help me configure Lucent (Ascend) Pipeline 50 ISDN routers so that traffic between them is encrypted. It is my understanding that most of the process involves the creation of firewalls and downloading them to the Pipeline by utilizing the Secure Connect Manager application. I am inexperienced with this process, and help from the Lucent technical support group has been extremely slow. I have a feature code present in the Pipeline menu for IP security. I'm pretty certain that this is the indication that my Pipeline 50s do have the capabilities for encrypted traffic. The design of the network where I am using the P50s is quite simple--in each location the Pipeline's lan connection goes to a small hub where it is connected to one important node. (By important node, I mean the workstation that I want to talk to at the other end of the isdn line.) Location A: Pipeline IP address is 10.10.2.1. Important node: 10.10.2.113 Location B: Pipeline IP address is 10.10.1.1 Important node: 10.10.1.90 Location C: Pipeline IP address is 10.10.3.1 Important node: 10.10.3.5 I would be most grateful if someone with firewall experience can help me create the necessary firewalls in order to effectively encrypt all traffic going over our isdn lines.
