SNMP port 161 via UDP

Hi everybody,

We are setting up a Mail-server in DMZ, to send mail to our internal mail-server.
Now we have to open a port in the firewall (port 161 for SNMP), but which is better to 
open for, TCP or UDP?
The DMZ is on the third leg of the firewall.
