Hmm. A disclaimer is in place:
I know very little about Effnet and their products. Specifically,
I've never used one of their FTC boxes. Don't consider this
expert advice in any way. It's all just "IMHO".

Well, there's this press release that a co-worker stumbled over
just now. Fresh off the virtual press.

Effnet today signed an MOU (memorandum of understanding) with
Ingram Micro AB - and is negotiating with select other companies - to
transfer the manufacturing, distribution and support of the standard
component, firewall/router systems that are based on Effnets
  proprietary IP-packet processing technology.

"The FTC Blue Box was an ideal proof of concept and a necessary
product to prove that our inventions had real world application and
  benefit", continued Rasmussen.

Lots snipped, the original is at

us with our proof-of-concept box for our routing algorithms" :P

Sounds like they're selling out, as far as the firewall
is concerned. I won't speculate on this being for better
or worse. Maybe it wasn't generating enough revenue for
some reason? ;) (Okay, boo, Mike, that was pure
speculation. I take that back. Almost.)
