I use it myself and also have often installed it at customers' sites.
As paketfilters go, it's quite good... runs stable and without a real OS to
worry about. Basically you just put it into the rack, hook it up, set up the
rules, and forget about it.
The only drawback at the moment is that the VPN of the Bigfire + Enterprise
is a proprietary solution, but AFAIK Biodata is working on IPSEC. At the
moment, VPN is only possible between two Bigfires, or between a Bigfire and
a PC running the Sphinx VPN client.
I've also installed a load-balanced HA-Solution based on two Bigfire and two
Radware Fireproof, connected via 34MBit to the Internet. Works great.
