I can answer your first question. Yes, you can configure specific UDP
timeouts. I have the UDP proxy timeouts on my firewall set to 300 seconds.
I run a Sidewinder so it isn't very similar to Checkpoint but I set the UDP
and TCP timeouts in the individual proxy configuration files.
