I have an canned application that uses RMI for a few specific functions. The way the app is written it apparently requires that the client talk to the hosts via its the IP address (for security?). This seems to prevent me from using NAT. I don't want to move the box outside the firewall or publish the real IP of box to the outside world so I'm not sure where to go next. I have been told that FW1 could accommodate these requirements but I'm not sure how.. Has anyone run into this issue and come up with a gauntlet solution ? I've also heard that there are some addition security concerns with RMI unrelated to my PS I want to apologize for my lack on knowledge in this area but I guess you've got to start somewhere...
