I'm running two Nokia IP650s in HA mode with VRRP Monitored Circuit. I
have the same virtual mac and IP assigned to both machines. This
configuration has worked flawlessly, until we installed proxy arp for the
purpose of doing static NAT. Now that we have an internal machine static
NAT'd to an external IP the Nokias run well for a few hours and then the
switchrouter they are plugged into gets confused about who owns the
virtual mac and stops all traffic. Flushing the arp cache on the
switchrouter solves the problem, for a few hours.
Question: Are the virtual macs on both Nokias supposed to be the same? Is
the virtual mac for proxy arp supposed to match the virtual mac of VRRP
virtual IP?
Thanks,
cj.
