Title: Firewall monitoring software?

Hi All,

I did a search through the archives and didn't find much discussion about Firewall monitoring software.  I'm in the process of selecting some software to monitor PIX and Checkpoint firewalls.

I've got four packages in mind and wondered what others thought about them:

 - Open Systems "Private I" (http://www.opensystems.com)
 - Webtrends "Firewall Suite" (http://www.webtrends.com)
 - "netForensics" (http://www.netforensics.com)
 - Telemate.net "eSpective" (http://www.telemate.net)

Key features i'm looking for are customizable real-time alerts via e-mail, pager (alpha and numeric), and snmp.  Scalability so it can monitor many (15-20+) firewalls at once.  And reporting.

Most of the above offer all of these features.  However, i can't find many reviews on these products.  I'm leaning toward Private I because of it's speed and scalability.  Webtrends has a nice offering as well, but not as fast.  netForensics only supports Cisco stuff, and Telemate.net's offering starts at $10k and goes up from there.

Is anyone using any of the products?  If so, what do you like/dislike?  How is the monitoring, how many firewalls are you monitoring, etc?

Regards,

--Rob
