Previously I requested where does firewall-1 store the rulesets and what files I need. I got the files I needed ( rulebase.fws, objects.c, standard.w ). I then downloaded the fwrules.pl script from phoneboy's webiste at www.phoneboy.com/fw1/ I also saved the policy of the internal and external interface on the firewall. When I compare the output which the perl script generated and the rulebases.fws content to the policy file's it is different. The output gave about 405 rules and in the policy file there was about 20 rules. What is the difference between rulebases.fws and the policy file! Is rulebases.fws all the policies combined ? If somebody can give me some input regarding this so that I can understand it better, it would be great!
