Hi,

I installed an OpenBSD firewall and am very happy with it (because I'm new to
OpenBSD and new to Firewalls.)

But I want to check logs to see what's been blocked, what's been passed, who's
been trying to port scan me, etc.

How do I do that under OpenBSD 2.7???

This is what I did (but it didn't work):

I added the following to the /etc/syslog.conf

# added by Mark 11/28/2000

#!ipf
local0.notice  /var/log/firewall.pass
local0.warning /var/log/firewall.block
local0.err     /var/log/firewall.short

and I made sure: option IPFILTER_LOG was in the kernel before I compiled it.

So how come when I look at /var/log/firewall.* I don't see anything?

How do you recommend logging and checking logs?

Any help will be super-appreciated! Thanks! :)
