I saw your reply to Mr. Keladis.
You mentioned that you can do a `fw load $FWDIR/conf/policy.W` from the
command line, but you cannot do this from the GUI client that is connected
to the control module running on the Nokia platform.
How many objects do you have defined?
How many rules are in your policy?
We have seen problems installing large policies from the GUI that could be
installed easier from the command line.
However, the every message would not be "no state saved".
That is what is confusing.
We understand the error message, but not for the symptoms you are
describing.

We could connect to the Firewall allright.
This isn't managed externally. They are on the same
box. We ended up re-installing SP2 (ftping and using
newpkg). However we learnt that there are some issues
esp. with securemote. So back to SP1, and we are OK
now. But this was something beyond ISS and escalating
to Checkpoint didn't help...
