sometimes, not always, the root password is the prom password...
you could try and copy the /etc/shadow entry for root's account and see if
john-the-ripper or crack will break the password and then try that. rf.

Unless he gets that far, he can use eeprom.
To be honest with you, I haven't seen this machine. I
am going by my friend's words. He says as soon as he
boots up, he is presented with a PROM passwd which he
doesn't know. When he interrupts boot sequence, and
types at the ok prompt --> boot cdrom or boot disk, it
asks for a passwd.
I did check out this site earlier. Thx, anyway.
