For HTTP and FTP there are "normal" not firewall related Benchmark Tools,
just look on Freshmeat. I am not sure why you need telnet benchmarks, but I
guess you can compare them to the results of HTTP if you turn off,
filtering.
You can also use pchar, tcpblast, spray and some other TCP Measuring Tools.
