Can anyone point me to these press releases? I've searched both Check Point
and Nokia's sites, and cannot find them.

Nokia and CheckPoint announced to split ways amicably about approximately
20 days ago.

I asked Nokia if they were planning to release their own version of a
firewall OS and the answer came back negative.
They had no intentions at this time to do so. But don't quote me on it.

Here are press release excerpts:

Effective January 20, 2000 :
Nokia will no longer sell Check Point software, and Check Point will no
longer sell Nokia hardware. Also effective January 20, 2000, the VPN200 and
RL series are being discontinued.

These changes will not impact the ability of our respective resellers and
service providers to offer the combined Nokia-Check Point product to
customers.

- Check Point software will continue to be pre-tested and pre-installed on
the Nokia appliance platforms
- Nokia will continue to offer "First Call-Final Resolution" technical
support for the combined offering
- Check Point software subscriptions purchased from Nokia will be honored
by Check Point
- Check Point and Nokia are committed to ensuring the high quality of our
combined offering and will continue to tighten our already successful
relationship
- Both companies are committed to making any necessary transitions
seamlessly, so that support to our customers is not impacted
- Check Point and Nokia will continue to aggressively innovate and
co-develop technologies and solutions for our combined customers
