So it's been a while since I played with checkpoints but:
Save the $FWDIR/conf/fwauth.NDB* files. This ensures the original binary
database file is backed up.
To backup the Network Objects, save: $FWDIR/conf/objects.C
- To backup the Rule Base, save: $FWDIR/conf/*.W
- To backup all Rule Bases, save: $FWDIR/conf/rulebases.fws
- To backup User Database, run the command: $FWDIR/bin/fw dbexport -f
[output file]
Alternatively, backup the entire conf and database directories - this
will
usually fit on a floppy unless you have tons of objects and save the
rulebase with a new name every time you make a change.
also http://www.phoneboy.com/fw1/ is great
I think you *should* be able to transfer this over to the new mgmt
station.
