ipchains on Linux kernels 2.2.x logs to
/var/log/messages, **but the default is not to log**
IPCHAINS only logs requests if you tell it to, and
on a per-chain basis: you must remember to add the '-l' option to the line in
your configuration script where you deny the packets you want to
log.
