Apologies guys. I was referring to eTrust Intrusion Detection, which wasn't
the requested product information.
Anyone who wants technical info on eTrust firewall, feel free to email me
back....

It was originally called Sessionwall-3 from Arbinet. They're taking the best
out of GuardIT and SW-3 and merging it together. The product never started
as an IDS it was very much a complex content analyser, it's headed for IDS
ground and is having difficulty breaking into that ground. Watch this space,
as development continues.
I'm not sure about why it hasn't met the ICSA lab certification, I'll be
checking that up very soon to verify.
Where it excels is in its real-time monitoring and how effective it is at
sniffing packets off the wire and comparing it against the many rules it has
in its database. It also has good blocking features. Probably one of the
things that will improve over time will be the reporting functionality which
is OK but could be better.
Vitaly, I think you might find in some circles it is CA which is "unpopular"
not their products. (-: If you want more technical information let me know
Vitaly....

It doesn't meet the minimum standard of being ICSA labs certified. You
might want to ask CA why it isn't.

#Hi all,
#
#I wonder if somebody ever used an eTrust Firewall by Computer
#Associates
#(probably it is their GuardIT in brushed-up appearance)? Can
#somebody say
#something good/bad about it? Looks that it is not very popular...
#
#regards,
#Vitaly.
