Communications
program at no charge. This course is a one day theory class and workshop
which
covers the fundamentals of data communications and Wide area networking.
All layers
of the OSI model from Fiber optics and DWDM at the physical layer, LANs,
802.3,
802.5, WANs, Frame Relay, ATM and ISDN at layer 2 and all the way up
to Routed
and Routing protocols such as IPv6 and BGP4 will be covered. We also plan
to cover
some MPLS items such as VPNs and Traffic Engineering.
The Introduction to Data Communications (IDC) program will be CCIE led. The presenter for the upcoming session is also authoring a book on MPLS VPNs and Traffic
Engineering
for Cisco Systems (Cisco Press). We would encourage participation in the
Technology Q&A
session held during the break, where we typically answer questions related
to real-life networking
issues.There is no prerequisite or prior networking experience required to
attend this program.
Course materials will be offered with the class. This program will enhance
your network staff's
ability to understand the details of routing and switching, as well as
discuss issues of concern with
our in-house CCIEs and CCNPs in real time.
The next IDC program is on Saturday, Mar 3rd 2001 at our Tysons Corner facility located at 8230 old Courthouse Rd, Ste 110, Vienna, VA 22182. Lunch will be served in
