Well,

In fact not, You can do this module working without management module
outside:

Where do I get this module?
** Standalone module inside

 Checkpoint or intrusion.com?
** Module Checkpoint

 Is it downloadable
** First, download the last upgrade module ftp.intrusion.com (to install it
in a standalone environment, otherwise you need to install the management
module first on somewhere.)

or do I have to order it?
** No.

Why wasn't it included in the first place?
** Embedded in the system, but not activated. (You can change it from the
Advanced Commands -> Module mode. But don't forget to give access to
yourself. Otherwise, firewall is activated by itself, and you have to get
access from the console. Don't use standart Hyperterminal for console
access, crt is good)
** Management IP address is the internal IP of the PDS2100, module address
is the external IP of PDS2100.

Why doesn't the intrusion.com website mention this (or am I just a lousy
reader)?
** I don't know.

Is this the Visual Policy Editor that you're talking about?
** you need the Checkpoint Firewall-1 Policy editor in two cases.

If I'm supposed to install this on the PDS device, how do I get a prompt to
do so?
** No, just upgrade.

**I didn't find the serial port prompt that useful.
You don't need the serial port for installation or upgrade.

Regards.

This leads to a couple of more questions:

Where do I get this module? Checkpoint or intrusion.com? Is it downloadable
or
do I have to order it? Why wasn't it included in the first place? Why
doesn't
the intrusion.com website mention this (or am I just a lousy reader)? Is
this
the Visual Policy Editor that you're talking about? If I'm supposed to
install
this on the PDS device, how do I get a prompt to do so? I didn't find the
serial
port prompt that useful.
