        Or...  A spam harvestor just scraped the archives and they got
added to the lastest spam lists.

        Seriously...  I put up a sugarplum (a series of poisoned pages
with bogus E-Mail addresses that users would have a hard time finding and
are restricted by robots.txt so legitimate search engines won't touch them)
and quickly discovered that there were more spam harvestors cataloging
my web pages than there were legitimate search engines.  List archives
are no different.  We want list archives for referral but the damn
harvestors are all over them like white on rice...
