FYI! Netstat works in windows 98 too.  this for me is not the quickest
solution because you still have to run and install all those instant
messengers.

        Yes, but remember that netstat is only available in Windows NT and
Windows 2000. If you are a Windows 98 user you will have to look for an

 Its easy. Just run the command netstat.. It will give you all info
