Though the 5 node limit of the free GnatBox doesn't really meet the needs of
his 10 node network very well, I think the main point is to get SOMETHING in
place ASAP, since every minute left exposed is a roll of the dice to see if
you get compromised, and the odds are not in your favor (thus the
recommendation to re-install your systems)...freesco is another free
router/firewall package without the 5 user limit, and if you are an
MS-oriented type of person, freesco.com is pretty simple and doesn't really
require *nix knowledge...it has menu driven config, doesn't get much easier
than that...

Actually, unless you have a way fast Internet connection, or are doing
VPN encryption, you really dont need a ton of CPU. A 486 running a
reasonably effcient OS (like the Gnatbox) will quite handily keep up with
a T1 line.
