"1) determine which (or both!) card W98 commo is using?
2) bind the MB NI to W98 commo?
3) set something so that the binding persists through reboots?"
My understanding, for what is that you can use multiple NIC's in
98 with the following caveats...
o 98, will use the first NIC you give (first one bound, there is
a knowledgebase artice on setting the binding order in the
registry) it for all comunications
If you just want to see which one it's using, transfer a file
and see which NIC has the traffic by looking at the LED's, or
use system monitor to monitor the NIC's and see whuch one is
doing all the work.
o You can only have 1 default gateway configured PERIOD
o Unlike NT, there is no option to enable global routing/forwarding
between NIC's, other than by entering manual routes (route add)
o Both NIC's cannot be on the same segment, or rather they can,
but it will only use one of them, the other will just sit there.
There is no load balancing functionality built in to 98
All this could be wrong, much is covered in individual knowledgebase
articles for each topic.
